Bishop Morales is pleased to announce the resumption of Equipping the Saints classes coming September 2014. Open to all in the Diocese, Equipping the Saints is an on-going program of study for all those interested in formation for both lay and ordained ministry. The classes will meet once each month, with assigned readings and homework to carry through the balance of each month.

Friday classes will begin at 6:30 PM, with Father Don Sackett teaching “A Survey of the Old Testament.” The second class, beginning at 8:00 PM will be “An Overview of Church History,” taught by Father Tom Janikowski. The evening will conclude with Compline at 9:30 PM. Saturday classes will be aimed primarily at those preparing for ordination as Deacons, and will begin with Father Andy Ainley teaching “Formation,” and “Introduction to Pastoral Ministry,” beginning at 10:00 AM.
After lunch, the classes will conclude with a colloquium led by various members of the diocesan clergy and the Bishop, and will include topics such as “Faith and Modern Culture”, “Apologetics and Sharing Your Faith”, “Parish Administration, Canons, and other Nuts and Bolts”, and “An Introduction to Breaking open Scripture.”
There are no class fees, but those preparing for ordained ministry are strongly encouraged to purchase the books used in the classes:

- Old Testament Survey, by La Sor, Hubbard, and Bush
For Father Janikowski’s class:
- Ye are the Body, by Bonnell Spencer
For Father Ainley’s class:
- The Imitation of Christ, by St. Thomas a Kempis
