American Anglican Council Leads Annual Clergy Retreat

“We have to be an invitational diocese,” stated Bishop Morales at the closing mass of the 2016 Clergy Retreat, held April 25-28 at the Redemptorist Retreat Center in Oconomowoc, WI.

During his sermon Bishop Morales recounted main points from the clergy’s workshop sessions with the American Anglican Council’s Clergy Leadership Training Institute. Canon Phil Ashey, CEO of the AAC, and Fr. Bill Midgett of Christ the King Anglican Church in Winchester, TN once again led the retreat.

Cn. Ashey and Fr. Midgett taught inspired leadership lessons from Nehemiah, and clergy broke into small groups to process the sessions and pray for each other.

This year’s retreat saw more camaraderie amongst the clergy. Clergy spent free time visiting nearby Nashotah House, making runs for the best custard in the region, and ordering late-night pizzas while chatting. Clergy traveled from all over the diocese, including priests from South Florida, Dallas, and Nashville.
