The Rev. Canon Eric Raskopf has begun a new work in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. St. Barnabas Anglican Church will officially begin next month. Self-described as “An Intentional Community of Believers in Western Waukesha County Seeking to Build The Kingdom” they will be holding services at Shorehaven Center for Life Enrichment. Fr. Raskopf will be aided by Deacon Andrew Johnson.
Their patron saint is known as the “son of encouragement.” As Fr. Raskopf writes, for “We feel called to carry on his legacy in all that we do reaching out to a broken world with the saving love of Jesus Christ. We come together to know God through His Word in the Scriptures and to experience Jesus Christ in the sacrament of His body and blood. Once nurtured by this experience, seek we journey out into the world to live into the promises we make in baptism and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
They expect to have both a “soft” and a “hard” opening. The hard or grand opening will be sometime in August, but they expect to have a first mass sometime in July. Please keep St. Barnabas in your prayers.
