It’s almost time for church camp… hard to believe that summer is almost here! This summer brings something new to the Diocese of Quincy.
Bishop Morales has decided that the Diocese will sponsor its own church camp separate from the camp previously co-sponsored by the Diocese of Springfield. He has appointed Deacon Jason Bowden to form a Diocesan Camp Committee. Currently serving on the Committee are Fr. John Hellrung (Grace Anglican, Collinsville), Fr. Shawn Doubet (St. Michael’s, Peoria), Fr. Andrew Unger (All Souls, Wheaton & Diocesan Youth Coordinator), Tracy Ver Mulm (Christ Church, Moline), Sarah Davis (Trinity Church, Rock Island), and Becky Karlowicz (St. Michael’s, Peoria).
We are planning a great week focused on our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, and how our youth can deepen their relationship with him. While some things are changing (see below for details), many things will not change – you can still count on many of the same experienced counselor team to serve at camp, as well as a great time of worship, singing, study, swimming, campfires, and more!
Here are the official details regarding this year’s camp:
Dates: Sunday, June 18 – Saturday, June 24, 2017 (this is different than past years & does not conflict with the 4th of July)
Theme: “In Christ, a new creation” – we will be focusing on various scriptures that are about new beginnings in Christ.
NEW Location: Camp Little Cloud in Epworth, IA (near Dubuque)
Grades that can attend as campers: Students who have completed grades 1st through 12th are welcome to attend as campers this year.
REDUCED Cost per Camper: $200/camper
