Anglican Church Camp of the Midwest

The Diocese of Quincy youth enjoyed their first ever “Anglican Church Camp of the Midwest” June 18th through June 24th, 2017. The camp was held at Camp Little Cloud in Epworth, Iowa.

Thirty-two (32) young people from the Diocese enjoyed daily Mass, class time, swimming, sports, crafts and an evening event. The evening events included a “Minute to Win it” game show night, a “Dutch Auction”, Skit/Comedy night, a Healing Liturgy and an end of the week party. Eleven adults volunteered for the week.

I personally have been involved in Church Camp Ministry for 17 years and must say that this was by far the most spirit filled, blessed week that we have ever experienced. The camp was blessed to have Father Shawn Doubet as Spiritual Director and teacher of older youth as well as Father Ed den Blauwen who taught the younger youth. Bishop Morales and Father James Fosdick also paid us a visit, had lunch and took a tour of the camp.

Each night ended with a campfire followed by Compline. The camp was beautiful, the staff was amazing, and the Holy Spirit filled us for the year to come.

For more information or if you would like to donate to next year’s camp, please contact Camp Board President/Camp Director Father Deacon Jason Bowden atdeaconjason@mchsi.com. We look forward to working with the youth throughout the year and building the camp for years to come.
