Church Plant Introduced

The Diocese of Quincy currently has SIX church plants. In the last newsletter, we introduced St. Mary’s in Chatham and Grace Anglican in Collinsville.  This newsletter will acquaint you with Grace Anglican Fellowship in Lake Forest, IL telling you about what the Lord is doing in this congregation – the blessings they have received this past year and also how you can pray for them.

Grace Anglican Fellowship – Fr. Alan Heatherington
On November 16, 2014, Alan Heatherington along with his wife Gayle began a Bible study with Evening Prayer in their home in Libertyville. This was the beginning of Grace Anglican Fellowship. In January 2016, we began also having Sunday morning Eucharists. By God’s grace, we were able to expand our Sunday evening services to include a fellowship meal, a Bible Study, and Evensong services using a local Evangelical Free Church. This past June we were able to move our Eucharists from our home to a beautiful, historic Catholic church in Lake Forest that was not being used on Sunday mornings.  Our congregation has grown to 25 on Sunday mornings and 21 on Sunday evenings.

Our prayer request is for further growth and spiritual deepening of our members. We also covet your prayers for an upcoming program that we will be hosting in January and February in an effort to reach out to our community with the Gospel.
