Saint Joseph, Springfield, has a new home

Posted by on Apr 1, 2015 in Updates

Saint Joseph Anglican Church was founded in 2012 as an Anglican church plant meeting in the house of Tom and Sylvia Swegle. Fr. David Byer, who was ordained in February, 2015, was encouraged by the Bishop to begin his ministry there. One of his first acts was to work out an arrangement with the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Springfield to share their fellowship hall and sanctuary. As Fr. David explains, “Saint Joseph Anglican Church is a new and exciting ministry. Our heart is to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and all of his people. We offer fellowship, praise-filled traditional Anglican worship, small group Bible studies along with fellowship and numerous growth opportunities and Gospel outreach into our community. We are not so much planting a church as we are planting the Gospel. Our Mission is: Sharing the Transforming Love of Jesus Christ.  Tom Swegle is enrolled in St Benedict School for Ministry and is a candidate for Holy Orders (Sacred Order of Deacon). Significant financial and prayer support has been faithfully given by Trinity Church in Rock Island.”

Saint Joseph has published a new website and Facebook page. Please take a moment to check them out and “like” them on Facebook! Website Facebook
