LEGO Brick Builders Club at Saint Peter’s Church

Posted by on Aug 1, 2015 in Updates

Saint Peter’s Church in Canton, IL introduces the LEGO Brick Builders Club for children ages 5 – 12 on Saturday mornings at 10:00. The club begins with a prayer, a scripture verse and brief devotional before the construction begins. For the first few sessions we focused on the club’s theme verse: “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain” [Psalm 127:1] explaining how we must let God build our lives. Next, we introduce the building theme for the day. So far the builders have created robots, dinosaurs and elevators with moving parts! The boys build for about 50 minutes and then we photograph their creations and put them on display in the parish hall for the week.

Photographs of their creations are posted on Facebook and Google Drive where parents can download them. For the last 10 or 15 minutes the children have snacks provided by the church or parents. The junior engineers have a blast building and seem to have an endless supply of energy and ideas to use to create their projects.
